About our neighbourhood scores — United States
Every suburb listed here is scored on up to seven dimensions — safety, schools, transport, amenities, affordability, lifestyle and property confidence — built from public and licensed datasets rather than opinion. For South Africa, safety scores are derived from official SAPS crime statistics matched to the nearest police precinct; schools come from the Department of Basic Education's National Masterlist of Schools, with amenities from OpenStreetMap and Google Places; affordability compares typical rent against Stats SA median household income for the area.
For the UK we use data.police.uk crime reports; for Germany, BKA and Landeskriminalamt crime statistics; for the Netherlands, CBS population, housing and crime data — alongside OpenStreetMap amenity data in every country, so scores stay comparable across neighbourhoods even when they sit in different countries. Each suburb profile shows the data vintage for every dimension so you know exactly how current the figures are.
Use the search and filters above to narrow by country, province or city, or open any suburb to see its full breakdown: crime trends by category, nearby schools and transport links, resident reviews, and — where available — an AI-generated summary that reads the data back in plain language. Scores are recalculated whenever new official data is imported.
